.... A FEW IDEAS FOR YOUR VISITS ...

Please note that all our tours are customized according to your specific requests. The following are only ideas to give you a feeling of what we can arrange and to help you in staring to imagine how to use your time. For further information and pricing please contact us.

Introduction to Florence.
Your guide will meet you at your hotel, or in a convenient easy spot in town, for a walking tour of the center of Florence so as to introduce you to the culture and history of this splendid city. The tour will end with a visit to one of the major museums such as the Uffizi or the Accademia where we will have previously booked tickets so as to avoid the long lines.

The neighborhood of Santa Croce.
You will walk around the tiny roads of this fascinating section of Florence, away from the crowds. The tour will begin with a visit to the church of Santa Croce and its museum, then you will proceed to visit the Horne Museum formerly a private collection now bequeathed to the city of Florence and the morning will end at the Museum of the Bargello, the old court house, which hosts works or art by Donatello, Ghiberti, Michelangelo and many others. A stop to taste the best gelato (ice cream!) in town will be a must to keep energy levels high!

Rome: where it all started.
The tour will start on the hill of the Campidoglio, where Rome was founded by the Etruscans. From here you will ... descend into time and history through the Forum and the times of the Emperors will come back to life. This walk will end with a visit to the Colosseum or the Palatine Hill, residence of the Emperors.

The Vatican.
By special appointment we can arrange a private tour of the Vatican Museum (which includes the Sistine Chapel) after closing hours. You will be alone in this Museum away from the millions of visitors that crowd its rooms daily.

The roads of Naples.
Walking around Naples can be quite tricky in trying to manage their complicated road system. Your guide, charming as every Neapolitan can be, will show you the secret spots and the breathtaking art that this enchanting city hides while at the same time introducing you to the warmth of southern Italy.

Pompeii.
A driver will meet you at your hotel with the guide. You will reach Pompeii after a short drive and spend a couple of hours walking by the roads of a perfectly preserved roman city frozen to its appearance in the 1 st century AD when it was covered by mud and debris during the eruption of the Vesuvius.

The wines and hills of Chianti.
The wines of Chianti are becoming more famous by the year and more and more often do they appear on international tables. You will have a nice drive through the beautiful countryside, enjoying the views and hearing about the history of this enchanting region. A guide will be with you for the whole day, you will stop to visit a few of the charming towns (Greve, Radda, Volpaia) and, after a good Tuscan meal, you will visit by private appointment a very well know winery. Your day will end sitting around a table sipping a selection of the best wines of the estate, chatting with the owner or the wine expert.

Cooking classes.
Our cooking teachers aren't professional cooks. They are Florentine ladies who like to cook and decided to share their passion with travelers. They usually hold the classes in their charming houses thus acting both as teachers and hostesses. The format of the class usually is the preparation of a meal, the menu of which is decided every time with each client according to their tastes or food restrictions. Often the teachers will also put in some local culinary history, which adds a lot to the experience as food is such an important part of our culture. We always stress with our teachers that they should show recipes that can be easily repeated at home pointing out the equivalent of local ingredients.

Biking through the hills of Florence.
A combination of biking and walking (which can be turned all into biking). You will bike and walk through small mediaeval hamlets, enjoying the most beautiful and relaxing Florentine countryside. You will have the chance to visit the villa where "A room with a view " was filmed, the cellars of the villa of Maiano and the places where Leonardo experimented his flying machines in 1505.
